Fort Bend Seniors is thrilled to announce our 2nd Annual More than a Meal Luncheon, set for Friday, September 13, 2019, at the Bud O’Shieles Congregate Center. Honoring the work of Fort Bend County Attorney Roy Cordes, Jr. and his commitment to Fort Bend Seniors and the local community.

Fort Bend Seniors served more than 360,000 meals in 2018. This year, we expect to serve more than 400,000.

More than 17% of seniors in Texas are threatened by hunger.

91% of our seniors live near or below the federal poverty line.

More than 38% of seniors on our Meals on Wheels program live alone, and sometimes the volunteer delivering their meal is the only person they will see that day.

24% of the seniors FBS serves are Veterans or surviving spouses of Veterans. 

Nearly 1,050 Texans turn 65 every day.
