Over the next five years, we anticipate a significant increase in demand for our services. Data indicates that the number of older Americans will double between 2010 and 2030. In addition, a greater proportion of seniors in Fort Bend and Waller counties are below the poverty level than are families in the general population. According to The George Foundation, the population of Fort Bend County residents over age 65 is growing at 7 percent and is expected to increase. Now, more than ever, our services are crucial.
MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON OUR SENIORS
The work of Fort Bend Seniors raises the spirits of all those involved, from the grateful seniors we serve to our dedicated volunteers and supporters. Without us, many seniors could go hungry; they would not have transportation to senior centers and many would face social isolation. Assisted living facilities and nursing homes are too expensive for many seniors, and many of these seniors have no relatives. We see the impact of our work every day through the overwhelming expression of gratitude on the faces of those we serve.
JOIN US
Thanks to the generosity of private foundations, Fort Bend County, and the dedicated Fort Bend Seniors Board of Directors, $2.5 million of the campaign goal has already been raised. Your help is needed to bring this important endeavor to a successful conclusion. Our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and teachers took care of us while we were growing up. Now it is time to take care of them!
If you are able, please join us by making a generous financial gift to A New Era of Serving our Seniors.
